Target Risks: General, specialty and environmental consultants with pollution liability exposures; Difficult classes: Asbestos

Minimum Premium: $3,500

Available Limits: $500,000 to $25 million

Minimum Self-Insured Retention: $5,000

Available on Excess and Surplus Basis: In all states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories (except for Puerto Rico)

  • Asbestos coverage for incidental exposures and abatement services
  • Worldwide claims-made contractors pollution incident coverage
  • Coverage for the insured's owned or operated auto at a job site where the pollution condition was created by the loading or unloading of that auto
  • Coverage for non-owned or operated auto where the pollution condition was created by loading or unloading
  • Free pre-claims assistance and circumstance reporting not subject to self-insured retention
  • Innocent principals coverage
  • Coverage for tort liability of the named insured's client to pay compensatory damages to a third person or organization
  • Coverage for clean-up costs incurred by a third party or mandated by any governmental entity
  • Coverage for job site activities and vicarious liability
  • Mediation credit up to $25,000 when mediation successfully used to resolve claim
  • Retroactive coverage available for eligible firms
  • Automatic extended reporting for one, three, or five years

Pollution incident coverage protects professionals from liability if they cause an environmental incident on the job, such as bursting a sewage pipe or spilling pollutants.

Why do I need pollution incident coverage?
Simply put, accidents happen. Many design professionals may face environmental exposure on the job. Pollution coverage provides a layer of security in case something does happen.
