What is an ISN?

When a CNA/Schinnerer policyholder signs on to our Risk Management section for the first time, he or she will be prompted to enter the firm's ISN/Reference Number. ISN stands for Insured Statistical Number and is simply a unique identifying number that CNA/Schinnerer assigns to each policyholder. You may hear it referred to as a Reference Number.

Why do I need my ISN?

Part of your advantage to being a CNA/Schinnerer policyholder is your access to our Risk Management materials. We have restricted portions of our website to ensure that only CNA/Schinnerer insureds and brokers can view certain documents. Your ISN is your key to access our Risk Management materials.

I'm a customer. How can I get my ISN?

There are several ways for you to find your ISN:

  • Provide basic information about your company and we can give you their ISN online.
  • Look on your policy. The six-digit number listed in the lower left-hand corner of your policy is your ISN. Take a look at the example.
  • Find your latest issue of Guidelines. Look on the mailing label. Right above the contact name is a row of numbers. The first six are your ISN.
  • Call your broker. He or she will be able to find the number for you.

I'm a broker. How can I find my client's ISN?

  • Provide basic information about your client and we can give you their ISN online.
  • Look on the dec. page of their policy. The six-digit number listed in the lower left-hand corner of their policy is their ISN. Take a look at the example.
  • Sign on to the Broker Launchpad and View All Insureds. Their ISN will appear next to their firm name. Don't have a user name and password?
  • Call your underwriter. If you don't know who your underwriter is, use our Underwriter Locator.

If you are trying to get access to our Risk Management material as a broker, simply sign in using the password and user name for the Account Info. section. Don't have a password?
